the director will determine whether the library will be closed early.

Check local television stations for closing announcements.

~ During hours that the library is open, there is a FEMA Tornado Shelter

available for public use.

Internet Access & Copies

 

  We have 10 patron computers for internet access as well as wireless access in the

  building. Our computers are not filtered.

  

  Copies can be made from the computer room and there is also a self-service copy

  machine available by the circulation desk. All copies are $.25 per page.

 

  Andover Public Library/Public Computer Statement

  • Andover Public Library (APL) embraces the First Amendment Right to Free Speech in that censorship is in violation of the United States Constitution, and also embraces the American Library Association's Free Speech Protection Act of 2008.

  • The 10 station computer lab is open to the entire public, both patrons and non-patrons.

  • "All internet resources accessible through the library are provided equally to all library users. Parents or guardians, not the library or its staff, are responsible for the Internet information selected and/or accessed by their children. Parents - and only parents - may restrict their children - and only their children - from access to Internet resources accessible though the library.   If an APL computer user is seen viewing inappropriate or offensive material -

  sexually explicit or illegal/criminal as defined by law - we address the issue

  according to privacy policy/First Amendment Rights. We would love to address all

  of your questions. If you have other questions or concerns, please ask for a

  general complaint form at the front desk so that our director can respond to your

  concerns in writing in more detail.
